Patologia Pleural – 25 anos GECP

[:pt]O Dr. Paulo S. Costa, Coordenador Clínico da Júlio Teixeira, SA, integrou o Programa da Reunião da Primavera do Grupo de Estudos do Cancro do Pulmão (GECP), como Palestrante na “Mesa redonda 3 | Mesotelioma Maligno”, tendo apresentado o tema “ Mesotelioma Maligno – Desafios Terapêuticos Radioncológicos”, evento que decorreu no dia 22 de março, em Espinho.

Nesta reunião de profissionais que se dedicam à investigação do Cancro, são abordados os avanços no diagnostico, novas terapias e desafios.

Costa, Clinical Coordinator at Júlio Teixeira, SA, was part of the Spring Meeting Program of the Lung Cancer Study Group (GECP), as a Speaker at the “Round Table 3 | Malignant Mesothelioma”, having presented the theme “Malignant Mesothelioma – Radio-Oncological Therapeutic Challenges”, an event that took place on March 22, in Espinho.

This meeting of professionals dedicated to cancer research will discuss advances in diagnosis, new therapies and challenges.

Congresso Nacional ART 2025

[:pt]Equipa da JÚLIO TEIXEIRA, SA, liderada pelo Radioterapeuta Dosimetrista GUILHERME CAMPOS, venceu o PRÉMIO DE MELHOR POSTER, submetido ao Congresso Nacional ART 2025, organizado pela Associação Portuguesa de Radioterapeutas, em Lisboa, que decorreu entre 8 e 9 de Fevereiro de 2025, sobre o tema “Validação do sistema de gating num TrueBeam para tratamentos de SBRT”[:en]The JÚLIO TEIXEIRA, SA team, led by Dosimetrist Radiotherapist GUILHERME CAMPOS, won the BEST POSTER AWARD, submitted to the ART 2025 National Congress, organized by the Portuguese Association of Radiotherapists, in Lisbon, which took place between 8 and 9 February 2025, on the theme “Validation of the gating system in a TrueBeam for SBRT”[:]

20.º Congresso Nacional de Cancro Digestivo

[:pt]Dr. Carlos Fardilha, Radioncologista da Júlio Teixeira, SA, no Instituto CUF, Porto, e no Hospital de Braga EPE, integrou painel de oradores no 20.º Congresso Nacional de Cancro Digestivo, que decorreu na Figueira da Foz, de 17 a 19 de outubro,  cujo tema, “Highlights 2024”, constou de uma importante revisão e abordagem das inovações / estudos científicos na área da Radioncologia no corrente ano de 2024.

[:pt]”Os doentes de cancro do pulmão com elevado volume da doença, evidência clínica e casos clínicos” foi o tema de um dos painéis da reunião “RaidO Sharing”, organizada pela SPRO – Sociedade Portuguesa de Radioterapia-Oncologia no passado dia 22 de junho, que ficou a cargo do Dr. Paulo S. Costa, Radioncologista, Coordenador Clínico da Júlio Teixeira, SA e Diretor do Serviço de Radioterapia da ULSS de Braga, EPE, e do Dr. Nelson Ferreira, Radioncologista do IPO Lisboa.

UMA NOVA ESPERANÇA PARA DOENTES COM NECESSIDADE DE REIRRADIAÇÃO DE LESÕES TUMORAIS

Com o investimento que a JÚLIO TEIXEIRA, SA, acaba de realizar num equipamento de HIPERTERMIA SUPERFICIAL nas suas instalações no INSTITUTO CUF, Porto, torna-se o primeiro centro de Radioncologia em Portugal a oferecer uma tecnologia que se tem mostrado eficaz no tratamento de tumores irressecáveis, que já tenham sido previamente irradiados, como acontece nas recidivas de cancro da mama ao nível da parede torácica.

O procedimento, com recurso a um dispositivo médico (Hydrosun®TWH1500) que induz sem contacto um aquecimento das lesões, num processo controlado por termografia, sensibiliza o tecido tumoral imediatamente antes da administração do tratamento de Radioterapia. Deste modo, reduz-se significativamente o respetivo número de sessões, dose e toxicidade associadas.

A Júlio Teixeira, SA, faz agora parte de um grupo internacional de Centros de Radioterapia de grande reputação onde tal tecnologia está já disponível, nomeadamente na Alemanha, Suíça, Áustria e Reino Unido.

[:en]With the investment that JÚLIO TEIXEIRA, SA, has just made in SUPERFICIAL HYPERTHERMIA equipment at its facilities at INSTITUTO CUF, Porto, it becomes the first Radioncology center in Portugal to offer a technology that has proven effective in the treatment of tumors unresectable, which have already been previously irradiated, as occurs in recurrences of breast cancer at the level of the chest wall.
The procedure, using a medical device (Hydrosun®TWH1500) that heats the lesions without contact, in a process controlled by thermography, sensitizes the tumor tissue immediately before the administration of the Radiotherapy treatment. In this way, the respective number of sessions, dose and associated toxicity are significantly reduced.
Júlio Teixeira, SA, is now part of an international group of highly reputable Radiotherapy Centers where such technology is already available, namely in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the United Kingdom.[:]

A Dra. Marina Amorim, interna de Radioncologia do Hospital de Braga, em parceria com a Júlio Teixeira, apresentou a comunicação oral:
Radiocirurgia Robótica como opção terapêutica na abordagem das metástases pulmonares – 3 anos de follow-up.

“Onde estamos em 2023: Na doença oligometastática”, foi o tema da palestra do Dr. João Gagean, médico radioncologista da Júlio Teixeira e do Hospital de Braga, apresentada hoje na Sessão de Cancro da Cabeça e Pescoço.

O Dr. Paulo Costa, médico radioncologista, coordenador clínico da Júlio Teixeira e diretor do Serviço de Radioterapia do Hospital de Braga, foi moderador das sessões de Cancro do Pulmão com os temas “Medicina personalizada na doença metastática” e “Doença potencialmente ressecável: Como assegurar o melhor outcome”.[:en]The Spring 2023 Meetings are taking place in Évora, from the 23rd to the 25th of March.
